The International Knife Throwers Hall Of Fame Association provides a positive influence and professional service to it’s membership. Founder and executive director Dr. Michael J. Bainton has based the International Headquarters in the Central United States, in Austin, Texas. The association is dedicated to increasing the communication, education and recognition of all Knife throwers. The IKTHOFA has an open membership policy. It is designed to service the varied needs and interests of members from all Knife Throwing styles.

Professional associations have been established in the United States for more than two hundred years. The first association was established in 1743, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was organized by Benjamin Franklin and now is known as the American Philosophical Association. Today 7 out of 10 adult Americans belong to at least one association. There are now more than 123,000 national International regional, state and local associations. These associations bring like-minded people together to learn to improve their craft, teach their craft to others, as well as provide a forum to bring them together for the exchanges of ideas to continuously improve their respective crafts.

The International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame Association Membership will be maintained at the headquarters in Austin, Texas. The IKTHOF Association's current sole purpose is to establish standards for which knife throwers can be ranked. The IKTHOF Association supports other knife throwing organizations whenever possible. Our association would be pleased to add you to the membership, as it continues to improve the communication, education and recognition of all Knife throwers and Throwing Knife makers across the United States and around the World.

MISSION STATEMENT - The International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame will maintain an International registry of all Inductees into the Hall of Fame. The Worlds best Knife Throwers, Makers and Pioneers of Knife Throwing are currently members of our Hall of Fame with many new inductees to follow. Unlike some recognition organizations, Inductees are nominated and chosen by the Executive Board Members, who evaluate the candidates criteria and make the decision for either pass over or induct the candidate.

Our board members are very responsive to the needs and interests of members, as they spearhead the future progress of the Hall of Fame and its members. We are truly an organization developed by Knife Throwers for Knife Throwers. As we grow from our infancy as an organization, service will remain the number one priority with a professional level of operation and responsiveness to the needs and interests of all members.
