First Place Knife Silhouette World Champion   2005 International Knife Thrower of the Year Noted Knife Thrower Mike "Alamo" Bainton In 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2009 Dr. Bainton was the uncontested Overall Knife Throwing World Champion and missed the 2006 World Championship by one point, won by 2006 World Champion Bob "Old Dog" Pyle. Michael J. Bainton, Ph.D. of Austin, Texas, founder of the International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame, started throwing knives late in life.   Since 2003, he has won first place in 30 national Championships and 17 World Championship events, making him the most prolific knife throwing champion in the history of the sport with a total of 47. This is another record with the Guinness book of world records, with 30 or more competitors. He is also the only thrower to ever make a perfect score in the Impalement contest at the World Championships in Claremore, Oklahoma in 2005 and won seven of the World Championships events at the World Championships in Las Vegas in 2004. He is thought to be the number one thrower in the world today with World Championships in Conventional throwing, Impalement, Fast Draw, Obstacle course and three World championships in Tomahawk throwing and two national titles in Mountain Man throwing. He is also involved in knife and hawk throwing seminars, public demonstrations, and entertainment in the Austin area.    Anthony  De Longis The International Knife Throwers Hall Of Fame inducted Anthony De Longis into the Hall Of Fame to be recognized for the Bronze Lifetime Achievement award for 2009. Anthony had to good fortune to train, choreograph and perform with such celebrities as Harrison Ford, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jet Li, Tom Cruise, Anjelica Huston, Bo Derek, Placido Domingo, Adrian Paul, Patrick Swayze, etc. He's been a professional bladed weapons choreographer, practitioner and student for nearly forty years and counting. If it's got a blade, he can wield it with authority and knowledge. His weapons skills include European sabers, broadswords, rapier & dagger and smallsword, as well as Japanese katana and Filipino double swords and knives. Anthony's always been fascinated by the art of throwing knives and hawks and he's thoroughly enjoying further exploration into those skills.
